Specialist Disability Accommodation
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a type of NDIS-funded accommodation for people with very high support needs. This specialist accommodation is provided to people who are NDIS participants or likely to become one. The funding covers the cost of a person's home so that they can live and receive their day-to-day supports. Importantly, it allows people with disability to remain integrated into the community.
SDA gives people with disability a choice about their housing environment, ensuring they receive the right support and housing design for them, including lighting, access spaces and amenities.
For example, if you have an acquired brain injury, sensory or intellectual disability or complex mobility issue, SDA can ensure you receive the support you require, in a house that is suited to your needs.
